We needed to make some changes to our delivery route schedules. We sent out emails to anyone whose route was affected.
I thought it might be nice to include the WHY here:
- The warehouse was previously closed until 10am on some days. This made for a very tight delivery schedule - especially if there were any traffic delays. Now we are able to begin working in the warehouse two hours earlier. I have re-worked our delivery routes to be more efficient and provide a bit more of a buffer for our drivers.
- Also, depending on where the days of the month fell, our first delivery sometimes allowed only two days to pick all the packages for everyone. This proved too tight of a window. Adjusting our schedule gives us two extra days on those months.
We don't take the delivery schedule lightly or make changes unless we feel it is really needed to provide a good service to our members.
