Always Looking to be Better

Those of you who have been members for a while know that we are always looking for ways to make it easier for families of all sizes to have access to ethically raised food they can trust.

Over the years, we've:

  • increased our pickup sites to over 50 across the metro area.
  • put our pork products for sale and local co-ops and restaurants.
  • continued to find ways to be more efficient, driving down our prices while still finding ways to pay our farmers a fair, sustainable amount for raising food the right way.

New in 2018

In order for us to know how much meat to raise (and allow our farmers to do the same) we've found we need to have some sort of deposit.  But for 2018, we've made a change to how new members sign up.  Now members can decide for themselves how much of a deposit they want to make when signing up.  Members who make bigger deposits get bigger discounts on every meat delivery.

Our three levels of deposits are:

  • $49 deposit.  No discount on meat.
  • $199 deposit.  2% off every pound of meat delivered.
  • $699 deposit.  6% off every pound meat delivered.

Our deposits are used to help smooth out your deliveries and allow us to go a little over or under each month (it always works out in the end) and not need to be sending invoices for every single add-on.  The time and money we save working this way let's us focus on raising and delivering the food to you and keeping our prices as low as we can.

We are really hopeful that this allows new members to pick the path that's right for them.  For smaller households or people who might struggle with a larger deposit, the $49 entry point might be perfect.  For larger families who are consistently getting a couple hundred dollars of meat a month, that 6% discount could pay for itself in not that much time.

As always, all of our deposits are fully refundable -- when you leave TC Farm, we return any remaining balance in your account, including your deposit.

We look forward to continuing to find ways to put safe, healthy, ethically and sustainably raised meats you can trust on more tables in 2018!

-Jack
