Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients
2/3 cup
flour
1 1/2 tsp
salt
3/4 tsp
paprika
3/4 cup
buttermilk
1 large
egg white
1 1/2 tsp
hot sauce
3/4 cup
finely ground cornmeal
3 unripe
green tomatoes
(1.2 lbs total), cut into 1/4 inch thick slices
1/2 cup
canola oil
Directions
Combine 1/3 cup flour, salt and paprika together in a pie plate or shallow bowl.
Whisk buttermilk, egg white, and hot sauce together in a separate shallow bowl.
Stir together cornmeal and 1/3 cup flour in a third shallow bowl.
Bread the tomato slices by first dipping each slice into the flour mixture, then the buttermilk mixture, and lastly the cornmeal mixture.
Place the breaded sliced on a wire rack over a baking sheet.
Heat the oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
Fry 4-5 tomato slices at a time until golden brown, 3-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate.
Serve warm with your favorite aoli.
