Our turkeys are raised on actual green pasture and literally roost in trees at night! Turkeys available at the store or co-op (even those labeled "humanely raised" or "free range") are housed in crowded barns with 15,000+ turkeys. Marketing materials showing turkeys outdoors are misleading as those turkeys don't actually spend time outside.
We are not aware of any other local turkey that's actually pasture raised like ours. If we missed any, let us know!

Lush Green Pasture
You'd think that should be obvious, but apparently for others "pasture" can just be a factory barn full of straw or patch of dirt.
Space to Roam
Other local farms claim to be "free range" because the birds are uncaged inside of their factory farm, just like every other factory.
Organic Grains
Our birds get up to 30% of their diet from the pasture; however, all poultry require some grain.
We were surprised to learn almost all local small farms are using conventional GMO feed.
Eventhough it costs 2-3 times as much we use only organic feed.
Slower Growth = Flavor
Factory style birds are amazing feats of engineering, growing fast, cheap meat. This is the type you'll usually see at even the crunchiest farmer's market.
The slow-growth breeds we use take over twice as long to mature; they are healthy and balanced in their growth.
No Drugs
Most poultry receive routine antibiotics to compensate for living conditions we'd all honestly rather just not know about.
Our birds are healthy in every sense of the word. They never receive antibiotics or other shortcuts most chickens endure to speed up growth.
