Forest Hogs: Slow Growth Heritage Breed, Amazing Flavor

Forest Hogs are one of TC Farm's most premium specialty items.
You can't find pork like this in any store, co-op or even in farmers markets! It is truly unique and we love offering it to TC Farm members as an exclusive item!
Raising Forest Hogs requires additional time, patience & attention (these hogs have it really good!). The rich flavor & fat marbling that result are well worth it.
Farmer Kerry raises our Forest Hogs on pastures and wooded lots near Montrose, MN. Without our members it would be difficult for him to find a market for them as they're raised to such a high standard.
If you haven't tried TC Farm Forest Hog yet, now is the right time! We only get a limited amount each year and it often runs out quickly.

How Are Forest Hogs Raised?
Normal hogs are processed at about 6-7 months, but Forest Hogs take over twice as long to grow. This huge investment of extra time is what helps make these so outstanding!
Smaller breeds like these are very uncommon. Originally bred as a lard breed to produce fat for cooking and domestic needs, most lard breeds are now extinct.
Our Forest Hogs require hand feeding every day to prevent them from getting unhealthy and we're happy to oblige. Our farmer Kerry feeds them exactly what is needed every day for a year and a half!
