In addition to being some of our most approachable species, these plants provide an abundance of nectar, pollen and habitat for imperiled pollinators. The Beginner's Collection includes 6 species, 1 seed packets of each:

• Purple Prairie Clover (Dalea purpurea) - 750 seeds
• Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) - 300 seeds
• Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) - 500 seeds
• Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta) - 1,000 seeds
• Little Bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium) - 500 seeds
• Smooth Blue Aster (Symphyotrichum laeve) - 750 seeds

For a naturalized look, combine all seed packets to cover approximately 30-40 sq ft. Surface sow outdoors early spring or late fall on a weed-free site. Mow the first growing season. Expect first blooms in year 2. Alternatively, sow seed in rows in a garden setting early spring or late fall. Thin seedlings and weed as expected with vegetable gardening.
