Meet Local Pet Treat Maker, Nicole of Wild Nourish!

As part of this week's Love Your Pet sale, we are so excited to introduce you to local maker, Nicole, of Wild Nourish.

Nicole
Wild Nourish is a woman-owned and operated small business that handcrafts thoughtfullly-sourced pet treats and chews right here in the Twin Cities!

Nicole's passion has always been natural pet wellness and nutrition. She has been creating her own special feed for her beloved pooches for over a decade.

Wild Nourish was officially launched in August 2020 to offer the best treats and chews for all pets to live long, healthy lives. Read more below about Nicole and then head over to the pet sale to snap up some Wild Nourish treats for your pooch!

Why and how was Wild Nourish started?

“My true passion is natural pet wellness and nutrition. I have been formulating and feeding raw and fresh-food diets to my pets for 15 plus years. I’ve always made my own dehydrated treats and chews and it made sense to start sharing them!

Wild Nourish officially launched in August of 2020. It started as a small side project while I was home with a toddler during the pandemic, and has grown and changed to meet the needs of discerning pet parents ever since.”

"Living in Minnesota, the heart of agriculture, I knew I wanted to source from small, local and ethical farms. I chose sourcing and sustainability to be my guiding standards and they still are to this day. Additionally, I strive to reduce waste in the human food system by utilizing the nutrient dense items from livestock that are typically discarded, such as ears, trachea, hides and feet."

What's one unique or interesting fact about your products?

"Our treats and chews are dehydrated raw at low temperatures for up to three weeks with zero additives or preservatives—a process that locks in nutrients and flavor. Paired with local, transparent sourcing, it’s a level of quality you rarely find in pet treats—or even human food!"

Do you have any tips for using your products that would be helpful for customers to know?

  • Start slow: One treat per day, shorter chew sessions for first-timers.

  • Always supervise: Remove sharp or broken pieces.

  • Store dry: Reseal and keep in a cool, dry place for 30 days—or freeze for 6 months. Avoid rebagging chewed items.

Why is buying local important to you?

"I’ve always partnered with local, sustainable, family-owned farms in Minnesota and Wisconsin to ensure transparency, traceability, and to support our regional food system. Sourcing locally to me means better quality and a stronger community."

How will MN Food Club benefit your business and customers?

"MN Food Club gives WIld Nourish a chance to connect with more local pet parents who want the best for their dogs. I feel this offers customers more access to small-batch, nutrient-dense pet treats made close to home."

Share a fun fact about yourself!

"I've trained and shown dogs for over 20 years, and work full time as a dog groomer."

A BIG thank you to Nicole for taking the time to answer some questions about Wild Nourish! She is currently working on ramping up production of her popular dog treats and chews and will hopefully have more products to offer soon!
