Buddy’s Pizza restaurants first opened in Detroit in 1946, introducing America to a new type of square pizza.
Baking the pizza in seasoned steel pans gave with edge-to-edge cheese gives the pizza a unique, crispy, golden crust. We follow our original, award-winning restaurant recipe...Our dough is double proofed, and hand stretched for light texture and artisanal look. Pepperoni is layered directly on the dough to allow the rich flavors to be absorbed into the crust. Wisconsin brick cheese is shredded and sprinkled across the pizza all the way to the edges of the pan, creating a crispy, cheesy crust. Three wide stripes of Buddy’s tomato sauce are ladled across the top of the pizza giving it that signature Detroit style look. We are the only pizza that is baked in a metal pan.
Ingredients: crust (enriched flour [wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, potassium bromate, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, enzymes, folic acid], water, yeast, sugar, salt, dough strengthener [wheat gluten and 2% or less of each of the following: enzymes, ascorbic acid {vitamin c}], pristine relaxer [enriched wheat flour {wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid}, yeast, enzymes]), cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), pizza sauce (crushed tomatoes [water, concentrated crushed tomatoes], salt, sugar, soybean oil, spices, garlic powder, citric acid), romano cheese (pasteurized part-skim cow's milk and/or pasteurized part-skim sheep's milk, salt, enzymes, powdered cellulose [anti-caking agent], natamycin [natural mold inhibitor]).
