None of the mystery stuff you don't. truwhip Original is where it all began: our very first truwhip, developed with a brilliant food scientist and a seasoned natural foods expert. It's a whipped topping sweetened with cane sugar and tapioca syrup, with a touch of light cream and beta carotene for its color.

At truwhip, we started out looking at the two usual choices: homemade whipped cream, or a store-bought topping packed with unhealthy, unnatural mystery additives. Well, we didn't think either of those choices was all that great. So we set out to make something better, and ta-daaa! truwhip Original was born. We're all about real ingredients, real moments and real goodness. And feeling good about indulging.
Keep it refrigerated. Spoon it over pie, berries, waffles or a mug of hot cocoa, or fold it into a no-bake dessert. Original is made with light cream and sodium caseinate (from milk) plus soy lecithin, so it isn't a dairy-free topping. For dairy-free, we make truwhip Vegan, a separate product.

Classic whipped cream is heavy cream beaten with a little sugar, and it starts to weep and deflate fairly soon after you whip it. A whipped topping is built on vegetable oil and uses stabilizers so it comes ready to spoon and keeps its shape on a dessert. Ours is made mostly from water, tapioca syrup, palm kernel and coconut oil, cane sugar and tapioca maltodextrin. It also has a touch of real light cream, and xanthan and guar gums give it body.
Is there a whipped topping made without corn syrup or hydrogenated oil?
Yes. Truwhip Original's ingredient list has no corn syrup and no hydrogenated oil. We sweeten it with cane sugar and tapioca syrup, and the fat comes from palm kernel and coconut oil. That matters because many conventional frozen toppings rely on corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. We use natural flavors, and beta carotene for color. We started truwhip because we didn't think the usual store-bought topping was a great choice.
