Read below for tips on how to care for your strawberry plants!

Strawberry Plant Care Tips

  • Sunlight: Place your strawberry plant in a sunny spot with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
  • Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Avoid watering the leaves to prevent disease.
  • Fertilizing: Feed your plant every 2-4 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer or an organic strawberry-friendly fertilizer.
  • Temperature: Strawberries thrive in temperatures between 60-80°F. Protect them from frost in colder months.
  • Pruning & Runners: Trim off yellowing leaves and excess runners to focus energy on fruit production.
  • Pest Control: Watch out for aphids, slugs, and spider mites. Use organic insecticidal soap or neem oil if needed.
  • Repotting: If the plant outgrows its pot, transplant it into a larger container with fresh soil.
  • Harvesting: Pick strawberries when they are fully red and ripe for the best flavor!
